Now that I’m all caught up on old movie reviews, we sat down to watch Splice tonight. This is one of those annoying movies that the characters start making very poor and progressing to very bad decisions until the very end. The first movie that also comes to mind is Wrong Turn, too many bad decisions is a turn off for me. Anyways, the plot is about to geneticists that decide to play around after being told they have to earn money to continue their research. This is where their first bad decision starts, and essentially it turns the movie into a comedy (at least to me). The movie makes it looks soo easy to splice genes and pop in and out of a gene research facility or make your own someplace else, even showing up late to work or not at all. The woman in this movie constantly weasels her way with the man to continue, even though its a bad decision, but hey we already did soo much wrong why stop now! Deep Thoughts: Would anyone (or maybe has anyone) mess with the human gene pool? Is it more acceptable to do this with animals? Plants? Likes: Boobs on the table (but they belong to a creature so maybe not, really I’m stretching this because the movie was horrible) Dislikes: Movies with continual wrong/bad decisions (maybe these types of movies serve as a modern day moral compass? But I don’t want to give any credit to this movie) This movie is getting a 2/10, its pretty bad (but you couldn’t tell probably since I did watch the whole movie, even till the very end when she signs the papers to give the hybrid baby to the company to continue the research…what a dumb b…).
